actually, i think the colour is fine. i like it; its…preppy? there’s just one thing…the light green shadows/lines on the pea…some of them look very much obviously hand drawn. maybe you can try changing that? it would make your picture cleaner-looking, and more…eh, edited? professional?

um, since you say there’s a difference between the first and second, i’ll say i like the first one better. even though i’m not sure what’s the difference.

way cute D

i like the squashed can at the front, bottom left corner. it’s cool(:
paiting on the black paper has really made the painting brighter and more colourful.

it’s very nice, but like chia2 says, perhaps it could look a bit more metallic?

jiayou, and well done!

hmm. about keira knightly…eh my only image of her is from pirates of the carribean: dead man’s chest…so i think i’m not a good judge of your picture’s resemblance to her in pride and prejudice…

as for the manga drawings, they are great! if i may say so, you’ve really improved a lot from sec 1. i like the first girl the best…i think her weapon is a nice contrast to her um…character? size?

and she has nice hair and cute pigtails D

AHH! Carol! I love this painting of yours!

I like the reflection in the river; it’s well done and makes the painting look more realistic(:

It’s very pretty, and very much realistic, but the sky and the skyline of the buildings somehow look less realistic than the bridge and the water…i think. Perhaps you forgot about it? I’ve no idea.

But anyway, a very pretty painting! (:

I remember seeing this while you were still doing the drawing…it’s turned out wonderfully(:

Love the Merlion; I swear I shall go improve my Merlion drawing skills…they’re still stuck at pencil drawings from primary school days. I like how you did the…shore? And the reflection of the landscape in the water; it’s very pretty.

Somehow I seem to find the splash of the water unnatural…it seems to be ontop of the water surface. But the colours seem right.

The ant in your prep looks especially realistic! But one question: are there some white spots in the painting and are they there on purpose?

Really well done, anyway!(:

I think your sketches are really good! Compared to mine which are like….ugh.

Wondering whether the drawings of the shells were affected due to the scanner’s resolution maybe? Because they look great in the post but a bit fuzzy if they are enlarged…

I think the sketch of Tingchih eating is good. Apart from the fact that the resemblance is not picture perfect or whatever you call it, I think most of it does resemble her ie. the dress, the angle of the arms, and interestingly, the eyelashes.

The banana looks great too(;

Can’t wait to see your drawings of more people…and maybe you can try using different mediums ie. acrylic, poster, oil because I think your painting will be in colour, right?

Good work!

Hey Chia! I like the first one too!

Like you said, the ‘intersecting’ lines create a very interesting composition, and the lights ‘bleeding’ also help give some sort of atmosphere. [my first thought was those 'central core' kinda rooms in those scifi movies, where the light's always blue]

It kinda reminds me of my designs for Sleeping Beauty. Criss-crossing lines, remember?

Great photo!

Hey Mabel!

I think your design’s really cool! A lot of people actually doodle on the back of their writing pads (I guess that’s where you got the idea from?), but your’s is really nice!

Especially like the 2nd picture (is it a domokun) with the grunge spirals/clouds too!

Haha you can go become stationery designer! It’s very nice(:

Hey Jiaying!

I just saw this episode a few days ago! And yes it was beautiful and very inspiring. Feel ashamed of my coursework all of a sudden…

I think one of the reasons why her collections looks pleasing is also because of the consistency between every outfit. They are all different, but you can tell at one glance that they are all from the same line. The folds are also very innovative, yet not extravagant, so one can imagine wearing them out, like you said.

I wonder if you saw the collections of the other finalists?
